We’ve already made our way through half of December and most movie-goers are bypassing the theaters and straight into the shops, judging from the not-so-crowded queues at the cinema ticket counter. Is it just me, or does it seem like everyone is saving their last dollar for Christmas preparations - shopping, decorations, food and shopping?

Among the movies that are on screens right now are the stories of of a handsome alien creating upheaval with his arrival on earth (The Day the Earth Stood Still), a gorgeous fang-less vampire in love with a mortal (Twilight), a 3D super-dog (Bolt), an interracial couple that is the target of a racist neighbor, (Lakeview Terrace), the return of ex-Special force agent Frank Martin (Transporter 3) and the list goes on..

So let’s check out the final upcoming movies for the month of December, shall we?

On the 18th of December*,

Movie: Yes Man (starring Jim Carrey, Zooey Deschanel)
Description: Comedy
Plot: A man signs up for a self-help program based on one simple principle: say yes to everything…and anything

On the 25th of December*,

Movie: The Spirit (starring Gabriel Macht, Scarlett Johanssen, Eva Mendes)
Description: Adaptation of a comic book superhero created by Will Eisner in 1940.
Plot: It is the story of a former rookie cop who suddenly returns from the dead as, THE SPIRIT to fight crime from the shadows of Central City.

Movie: Australia (starring Hugh Jackman, Nicole Kidman)
Description: Romantic action-adventure set in northern Australia before World War II
Plot: An English aristocrat who inherits a sprawling ranch reluctantly pacts with a stock-man in order to protect her new property from a takeover plot.

Come on people! After all that shopping, spending some dollars on a good movie might just make your day. There are so many movies out there this month, just take your pick. Check your local cinema listings for dates and times.
