SPOT: Another Way To Die
For Soundtrack Pick Of Today (SPOT), I have chosen the theme song for the 2008 James Bond movie, Quantum of Solace, Another Way to Die. This song, performed by Jack White (from The White Stripes) and R&B superstar, Alicia Keys, was written by White. Vocals, guitar and drums by Jack White and vocals and piano by Alicia Keys.
This is the first duet to be performed on the James Bond series and was nominated for the Best Short Form Music Video for the 2009 51st Grammy Awards. It has also garnered one nomination for Best Original Song at the Critics Choice Award.
Personally, I think the song is fantastic. The collaboration of a rockstar and a diva was certainly something fresh and perfect for the theme song of Quantum of Solace. Below is the music video for Another Way to Die:
