Dollhouse (FOX)

Published by shemah at 9:54 pm under TV Shows Edit This

With the cancellation of many TV shows in 2008, I am sure everyone is anticipating what 2009 will bring to us TV viewers.

Well, one show that has been set to be released on February 13th, 2009 on FOX is Dollhouse. Created by Joss Whedon, it’s an American Sci-Fi TV show that has been having a fair amount of buzz surrounding it’s premiere. So far, FOX is committing to 13-episodes for this production.

The Cast:  Eliza Dushku - Echo
Amy Acker - Dr. Claire Saunders
Reed Diamond - Laurence Dominic
Enver Gjokaj - Victor
Fran Kranz - Topher Brink
Dichen Lachman - Sierra

Plot: In Dollhouse, Eliza Dushku plays a young woman named Echo, a member of a group of people known as “Actives” or “Dolls.” The Dolls have had their personalities wiped clean so they can be imprinted with any number of new personas, including memory, muscle memory, skills, and language, for different assignments. They’re then hired out for particular jobs, crimes, fantasies, and occasional good deeds. On missions, Actives are monitored internally (and remotely) by Handlers. In between tasks, they are mind-wiped into a child-like state and live in a futuristic dormitory/laboratory, a hidden facility nicknamed “The Dollhouse”. The story follows Echo, who begins, in her mind-wiped state, to become self-aware.  -excerpt taken from Wikipedia.

Personally, I don’t think it’ll be as huge as the Buffy Vampire Slayer phenomena, but who knows?? It’s all up to the viewers!

Awesome. I think Joss Whedon is completely overrated, but this sounds great.

bill_finger: Hahaha.. you’re right about that. But yeah, this is a show to look forward too. :)
