Director: Gavin Hood
Rating: PG-13 for intense sequences of action and violence, and some partial nudity.
Runtime: 107 minutes
Starring: : Hugh Jackman, Liev Schreiber, Danny Huston, Will.I.Am, Lynn Collins, Taylor Kitsch, Ryan Reynolds, Daniel Henney, Kevin Durand, Dominic Monaghan.
Release Date: 1st May 2009 (US - wide)

One of the most anticipated films (despite the film’s leak) for this summer of 2009, X-Men Origins: Wolverine, premiered yesterday, here in Malaysia - 29th April 2009.

Based on the popular Marvel comics, X-Men, producers Kevin Feige, Richard Donner, Stan Lee producedX-Men Origins: Wolverine, telling the history of Logan’s epically violent and romantic past, his complex relationship with Victor Creed, and the ominous Weapon X program which is essentially the reason for him being one of the most indestructible mutants…Wolverine.

The film began with a scene of a little boy down and sick with fever, being comforted to by his father, with a boy, Victor standing guard by his side. As the scenes unfold, the two begin running and basically became each other’s keeper. Throughout the years, events force them to meet new mutants, who they join forces with. Logan’s beliefs then caused them to break apart, only to reunite in a battle that will see them battling foes that were once friends thus setting the wheels in motion for subsequent X-Men events.

All in all, the movie was pretty awesome. However, I was left feeling disappointed with the lack of character developments, for that of Wade/Deadpool, the wise-cracking sword-wielding mutant (played by Ryan Reynolds) and the highly anticipated Gambit (Taylor Kitsch).

For those who DON’T READ THE X-MEN COMICS, here’s the rundown of each character in the movie - their powers, their characters in the comics and the movie portrayal.

Say all you want about X-Men Origins: Wolverine, good or bad, this movie will be #1 opening weekend no matter what. I definitely would recommend you to check this outYou might feel like you wish there was more but it definitely is entertaining. I give it a 7.8/10.

Voulez-Vous - Mamma Mia The Movie OST

Mamma Mia

I know I’ve mentioned before that Mamma Mia The Movie is listed in My Top 10 Favorite Musicals , right? So for this week’s Music Monday, I have chosen the song Voulez-Vouz, taken from the original movie soundtrack of Mamma Mia The Movie!

Mamma Mia The Movie

I think this is one of my favorite scenes from the movie. When the boys crash the hen party for Donna’s (played by Meryl Streep) daughter, Sophie (played by Amanda Seyfried) and during which, all three of the men, who have had a relationship with Donna 20 years back- Harry Bright (played by Colin Firth), Billy Henderson (played by Stellan Skarsgard) and Sam Carmichael (played by Pierce Brosnan) - each come to a conclusion that he is Sophie’s father and Sophie becomes increasingly confused.

Since I couldn’t get the vid clip that depicts the scene I was describing, you guys just have to settle for the song! Here’s Voulez-vous sung by the full cast of Mamma Mia The Movie.

- ABBA Lyrics

Additional info: Those of you might/might not recognize actress Julie Walters who plays, Donna’s best friend, Rosie Mulligan also plays Mrs. Molly Weasley in all Harry Potter installments.

Feels Like Home (How To Lose A Guy In 10 Days OST)

Monday is around again, and as much as some of you are feeling blue out there, Music Monday help take those blues away. So for this week’s pick, I chose a song from the original soundtrack of the How To Lose A Guy in 10 Days (2003), starring Matthew McConaughey and Kate Hudson.

How To Lose A Guy in 10 Days

The film is about two career driven people trying to one up themselves for the sake of an advancement in their respective careers and end up falling for each other. However, when the true nature of what brought them together surfaces, both get deeply hurt.  As what happens in most romantic comedies, well, the movie is utterly predictable.. but what makes it a great romantic comedy is the chemistry between Hudson and McConaughey.

Those who haven’t seen it.. I recommend that you do! Check out the DVD below!

Matthew McConaughey is out with a new romantic comedy, co-starring with Jennifer Garner and it looks quite promising for a romantic comedy. So you might want to check it out: The Ghosts Of Girlfriends Past coming out 1st May 2009.

So anyways, this song, here’s Feels Like Home by Chantal Kerviazuk from the How To Lose A Guy in 10 Days Soundtrack. It was also the soundtrack for the hit tv show, Dawson’s Creek.
