In Transformers: Revenge of The Fallen, Sam Witwicky (Shia Lebouf) is beginning to start a whole new life in college. It’s been 2 years since the battle at Mission City where Sam and the Autobots defeated the Decepticons.

Practically an urban legend now, Sam has to deal with more pressing matters at hand - college, his parents (Kevin Dunn and Julie White), not forgetting trying to handle a long-distance relationship with his girlfriend Mikaela (Megan Fox) and leaving his guardian car Bumblebee behind (freshman aren’t allowed to bring their cars to campus).
Meanwhile, the remaining Autobots, Optimus Prime, Ironhide and Ratchet, together with new autobots recruited (that responded to Optimus Prime’s message) has teamed up with human counterparts, Major Lennox (Josh Duhamel) and USAF Sergeant Epps (Tyrese Gibson) in a TOP SECRET team, NEST. Their mission: to find the remaining Decepticons on earth and destroy them.
Their last operation in Shanghai got Optimus worried after receiving a threat from a “dying” Decepticon that said “The Fallen shall rise again”. Seeking out Sam in college, Optimus reaches out to Sam to help them in another battle that he can foresee coming. Sam shuts him down, trying to seek a normal life as a young adult.

Sam returns to find that he’s seeing symbols and images in his mind pertaining to the same symbols that his great-grandfather Witwicky was reported to see. As seeing how he had “activated” a shard of the AllSpark when he was packing his old jacket that he wore during the battle, the information from the AllSpark has seemed to get embedded in his mind.
Having to deal with his pushy roommate, Leo (Ramon Rodriguez) who runs a website trying to uncover the conspiracies of the cover up of the battle at Mission City and everything else “alien, Sam also has to deal with an aggresive beautiful college student (Isabel Lucas) who doesn’t quite seem to be… normal. He then calls Mikaela for help.
The Decepticons soon learn what Sam doesn’t know - that he holds the key to the outcome of the struggle between good and evil. With the help of the Autobots, NEST and an old adversary-turned-ally former Sector 7 agent Mr. Simmons (John Turturro), Sam and Mikaela have to embark on a journey to find out the secret history of the Transformers on earth and the sacrifices that need to be made in order to save the world once again from the ancient and evil threat sworn on returning for revenge.. an ancient Decepticon named, The Fallen.
*****
The movie was indeed bigger and badder as I hoped it would be. I was scared to have high expectations from the sequel but Michael Bay did NOT disappoint. It was action-packed and made you sit on the edge of your seat. It made you want to laugh and it made you want to cry.. So what if some of you think that the romance “thing” going on between Sam and Mikaela is corny.. (Corny as corny be, nothing beats those vampire kids if y’know what I mean).
I would have loved to see more character development of the new Autobots though. Sideswipe was super cool but didn’t get to see much action. Would’ve loved to see more of Arcee and Chromia too. Mudflaps and Skid were just absolutely lovable, though. Ratchet and Jolt were very underplayed as well this time. Ratchet definitely had more “face time” in the first movie.
However I will still stand over what I’ve been saying to everyone - that Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen definitely was the best summer movie I’ve seen so far. You will definitely see me queuing again to get another dose of this majorly awesome movie! I give it a 9/10! Call me biased, crazy or whatever you want!! I love love love the movie!
Note: Check out my previous Transformers 2: Revenge of The Fallen post for the full list of autobots that appeared in this movie.
CONGRATULATIONS!!
