Upcoming: Amelia (2009)
Amelia is a 2009 biographical film based on the life of Amelia Earhart, legendary American pilot Amelia Earhart, who disappeared while flying over the Pacific Ocean in 1937 in an attempt to make a flight around the world.
The movie takes a look into the life of Amelia’s rise to fame, her relationship with her husband, George Putnam. The film is directed my Mira Nair, based on the script by Ronald Bass.
2 time Academy Award Winner Hilary Swank will be portraying Amelia Earhart, Ewan McGregor as Gene Vidal - dear friend of Earhart’s. Richard Gere would be playing George Putnam, a divorced man once married to Dorothy Binney Putnam, played by Virginia Madsen. Christopher Ecclestone also joins the cast as Fred Noonan, whom Earhart took off with on her last flight that led to her disappearance.
Mia Wasikowska (Alice in Wonderland) rounds up the main cast as Elinor Smith - who at that time was the youngest licensed pilot on record.
The film is set to be released on 23 October 2009.
