The Box is an upcoming suspense/thriller film, written and directed by Richard Kelly, based on the 1970 short story, “Button, Button” written by Richard Matheson.
The film is about a suburbun couple, Arthur Lewis (James Marsden) and Norma Lewis (Cameron Diaz) with a young ailing son, who are facing some financial difficulties in their life. One day, a mysterious stranger (Frank Langella) shows up on their doorstep with a mysterious box.
The box contains a button - if they choose to push it, they will receive $1 million. However, once the button is pushed, simultaneously, it will cause the death of someone in the world that they do not know. With just 24 hours to have the box in their possession, Norma and Arthur find themselves in a horrific moral dilemma and must face the true nature of their humanity.
