Case 39 is an American/Canadian horror film, centering around social worker Emily Jenkin (Renee Zellweger), who is assigned to a mysterious case involving an abused 10-year old girl, Lilith Sullivan (Jodelle Ferland). After much investigation, Emily’s suspicions regarding her the Sullivans (Kerry O’ Malley and Callum Keith Rennie) ring true when she finds out that the Sullivans were planning to kill their only daughter.

Emily, who has formed a bond with Lilith decides to save her and take her in and suggest that she takes Lilith into her own home until the right foster family comes along. It is then that she horribly discovers that the situation is more dangerous than she ever expected.

Apparently the release date for Case 39 in the US has been pushed back a couple of times then cancelled altogether and now awaiting for an announcement.

I’m not a big fan of Renee Zellweger’s but I don’t mind watching her in more serious roles. Definitely a movie that I’ll be looking out for. I live for the suspense in movies like this!!
