The Boys Are Back
is a film adaptation by Allan Cubitt from Simon Carr’s novel, “The Boys Are Back in Town”. Inspired by a true story, the film follows a witty, wisecracking, action-oriented sportswriter, Joe Carr (Clive Owen) who, in the wake of his wife’s tragic death, finds himself in a state of single parenthood.

With turbulent emotions swirling just below the surface, Joe Warr throws himself into the only child-rearing philosophy he thinks has a shot at bringing joy back into their lives: “just says yes.”

Raising two boys - a curious six year-old Artie, (Nicholas McAnulty) and a rebel teen, Harry (George Mackay) from a previous marriage — in a household devoid of feminine influence, and with an unabashed lack of rules, life becomes exuberant, instinctual, reckless . . . and on the constant verge of disaster. Okay, so this one looks like a great family film to look out for.. sad, funny and that “feel good” feeling all around, I’m definitely gonna catch this one. I hope the waterworks for this won’t be too bad for me. I cry watching films like these.. don’t you? I know you want to!! :)

Oh and if you’re looking for the song featured in The Boys Are Back trailer, it’s called Turn The Page by Matt Hires. Enjoy!
