Dear John is a movie adaptation from the best-selling novel of the same name by Nicholas Sparks, author of A Walk To Remember, The Notebook and Nights In Rodanthe . Okay, so I loved 2 out of the 3 which means there’s a good chance that I’ll like this. After all, the amazing Amanda Seyfried and Channing Tatum will be acting as the main roles for this movie. Not to mention the unbelievable Richard Jenkins who will be playing John Tyree’s (Channing Tatum) father.

The film is a romantic drama about a soldier who falls for a conservative college student while he’s home on leave.

Lasse Hallström has directed some of my favorite romance films like Chocolat and Casanova as well as the moving drama, An Unfinished Life , starring Robert Redford, Jennifer Lopez and Morgan Freeman.

The trailer looks great and I hope it deviates from the typical Nicholas Sparks novel of love and loss… just give us a happy ending already! LOL!
