Kick-Ass has been a highly anticipated film for 2010. The film is an adaptation of Mark Millar’s comic book series. However, I’m sure that non fans of the comic book series will also be going in droves to watch this awesome film. Kick-Ass centers around an unnoticed high school student, Dave Lizewski - a comic book fan with a few friends and who lives alone with his father. His life is not very difficult and his personal trials not that overwhelming. However, one day he makes the simple decision to become a super-hero even though he has no powers or training. [imdb]

Aaron Johnson is cast as the main character, Dave Lizewski. Chloe Moretz plays Mindy Macready, Damon Macready’s 11 year old daughter who he trained to be Hit Girl. Lyndsy Fonseca plays Katie Deauxma, Lizewski’s crush while Christopher Mintz-Plasse has been cast as Red Mist - another “superhero” that was inspired by people dressed in makeshift, original superhero costumes.

Trivia: Prior to the series launch a viral campaign featuring a short video of the main character of the comic, Kick-Ass, being “caught on tape” performing a heroic act was uploaded to YouTube and spread around the Internet. Later, a MySpace page was created, supposedly maintained by the character, where it was written that “Mark Millar […] is doing a comic-book about me with […] John Romita Jr.”A charity auction was held to name the main character. The winner, Dave Lizewski, chose his own name. [wiki]
