Feels Like Home (How To Lose A Guy In 10 Days OST)

Monday is around again, and as much as some of you are feeling blue out there, Music Monday help take those blues away. So for this week’s pick, I chose a song from the original soundtrack of the How To Lose A Guy in 10 Days (2003), starring Matthew McConaughey and Kate Hudson.

How To Lose A Guy in 10 Days

The film is about two career driven people trying to one up themselves for the sake of an advancement in their respective careers and end up falling for each other. However, when the true nature of what brought them together surfaces, both get deeply hurt.  As what happens in most romantic comedies, well, the movie is utterly predictable.. but what makes it a great romantic comedy is the chemistry between Hudson and McConaughey.

Those who haven’t seen it.. I recommend that you do! Check out the DVD below!

Matthew McConaughey is out with a new romantic comedy, co-starring with Jennifer Garner and it looks quite promising for a romantic comedy. So you might want to check it out: The Ghosts Of Girlfriends Past coming out 1st May 2009.

So anyways, this song, here’s Feels Like Home by Chantal Kerviazuk from the How To Lose A Guy in 10 Days Soundtrack. It was also the soundtrack for the hit tv show, Dawson’s Creek.

Come join Music Monday and share your songs with us. One simple rule, leave ONLY the actual post link here. You can grab this code at LJL Please note these links are STRICTLY for Music Monday participants only. All others will be deleted without prejudice.

Tortured (2008)

Tortured 2008 movie poster

Tortured is a crime/thriller directed by Nolan Lebovitz and was released direct-to-DVD in the U.S. on September 16, 2008. The movie stars Cole Hauser, Laurence Fishburne and James Cromwell.

The film is about an undercover FBI-agent, Kevin Nolan a.k.a Jimmy who tries to bring down a master criminal, Ziggy, who runs his illegal businesses under a mysterious command. No one seems to know who the real Ziggy is or how he looks like. The ones who DO know, end up dying. Jimmy’s father, the director of the FBI, played by James Cromwell, asks Jimmy to pull out of the operation, however, he refuses, trying to win the respect of his father and his peers.

To get under Ziggy’s good graces he needs to become Ziggy’s personal investigator and torture his victim, played by Laurence Fishburne. To gain Ziggy’s trust, he too must undergo his own heavy and dangerous initiation process that leaves him with nightmares. The longer he stays, he seems to be overwhelmed with the reality of torturing and being tortured himself, all in the name of justice.

The plot was good however the execution did not really pull me in to concentrate on the movie long enough. The movie kept going back and forth between the present and the previous six months of flashbacks. Laurence Fishburne, who normally puts on a great performance, disappoints me in this movie. It’s no wonder the movie was released direct-to-DVD. Despite all the big names in the casting of this movie, I’ll give it a 6/10. If you’re easily entertained, then you might like this one. You can get this one on DVD:

Director: Nolan Lebovitsz
Genre: Crime/Thriller
Rating: Rated R for violence including torture, and language.
Runtime: 107 minutes.
Starring: Cole Hauser, Laurence Fishburne, James Cromwell, James Denton and Emmanuelle Chiriqui.

SPOT: Life Is Okay (Don’t Look Down OST)

Life Is Okay is a song sung by Season 7 American Idol contestants, Michael Johns and Brooke White. This is a track featured on Shaun White’s DVD documentary Don’t Look Down. Don’t Look Down follows Shaun White, the professional snowboarder, during his journey through the year following his Olympic success. The documentary has been released on DVD as well as on ESPN.

The soundtrack to Don’t Look Down was released seperately on January 20th, 2009 which is available from Amazon.com

So here’s my Soundtrack Pick of Today (SPOT), Life Is Okay, by Michael Johns and Brooke White.

Michael Johns had always been my favorite contestant in the whole of Season 7 and I wish him all the best with his career.
