There’s been a lot of talk with the upcoming Marvel comic adaptation of the winged-helmet hero, hammer wielding, Thor. Actor/director Kenneth Branagh (who acted as Professor Gilderoy Lockhart in Harry Potter: Chamber of Secrets),  is directing his first comic adaptation and it seems to be attracting a lot of attention.

The latest casting news for Thor, include Kat Dennings, although it’s not clear what role she will play.. There was a recent casting call for the role of “Marcy Lewis” though. Could this possibly be it?

(20) Is a college student. Aloof, jaded beyond her years, she thought her internship with scientist Kate Spelling would be an easy 6 college credits. However, she’s been stuck for months in this small New Mexico town and relegated to a wide range of unglamorous activities. Kate has been particularly hard on Marcy, making it her personal project to see that Marcy lives up to her potential. Marcy deals with her situation both by using subtle irony and by being an overt wiseass.

So far the cast of Thor are:

Chris Hemsworth as Thor.

Anthony Hopkins as Thor’s father, Odin. The gorgeous Natalie Portman will play Thor’s love interest, Jane Foster.

Miley Cyrus and Liam Hemsworth in The Last Song

The Last Song is a drama centered on a rebellious girl who is sent to a Southern beach town for the summer to stay with her father. Through their mutual love of music, the estranged duo learn to reconnect.

As I mentioned previously, The Last Song, Nicholas Sparks, author of The Notebook, A Walk to Remember, Nights in Rodanthe and the upcoming Dear John, was hired to write both the novel by the same name and the screenplay adaptation with Cyrus in mind for the lead role.

I must say I’m not really a big fan of Vampire Diaries.. I mean, one can only take so much of a 17-year old (technically 100 years old) vegetarian vampire whose in love with a human teenage girl. It doesn’t SUCK actually, it’s pretty good… thing is, it’s just too reminiscent of Twilight.. but I do hope that things get interesting really soon.. because at least here we get to see loads of bloodsucking action!!

But one AWESOME thing about Vampire Diaries is that they feature awesome songs throughout the series.. they’ve featured One Republic, Placebo, Kings of Leon, etc..

One song that I absolutely love from Episode 6 - The Lost Girls (the final scene between Elena and Stefan) is the song Down by Jason Walker.

There are two version to this song, one is a duet featuring Molly Reed who is the co-writer for this song and the other is sung by Jason Walker alone. Both are amazing and I love both!
